Students Compete at SCISA Art Show
The annual SCISA Art Show was held February 6 at the Darla Moore ROB Building in Lake City. LMA was represented by students from the lower, middle and high schools. Mrs. Caroline Buyck and Mrs. Nancy McInnis do an outstanding job helping students gain an appreciation for art and helping them explore their talents. Congratulations to all of these students.
Students Compete at SCISA Literary Meet
Students from the lower and high school competed for the first time at the SCISA Literary Meet held in Orangeburg recently. Students participated in a variety of events such as storytelling, oral interpretation, poetry recitation, essay writing and speaking. Laura Kimzey sponsored the group and worked to help them prepare for their events. All of the students did an outstanding job. Special congratulations go to Zealie Kimzey who placed third overall in Dramatic Oral Interpretation. We are so proud of all of these students!
Bowling Teams Bring Home State Titles
The LMA Bowling Teams both brought home state championship titles during the SCISA finals at Gamecock Lanes in Sumter on February 3. The LMA boy's team dominated once again to bring home their fifth straight title. The LMA co-ed team wrapped up the season with their first state title win. Coach Jay Atkins contributed their success to the constant dedication and hard work of his team and the support from parents. Congratulations Swampcats!!
AR Students Celebrate Success
Accelerated Reader students who met their first quarter reading goal were treated to a day away from school. The students, 108 in all, went to Chuck E. Cheese in Sumter for fun and games and of course, pizza! We are so proud of these students for their hard work and determination in earning their points this semester. Thank you to parents and teachers for helping to instill a love of reading!
Mrs. Godwin Receives Surprise from Chamber
Our very own Mrs. Sheree Godwin, K5, was the lucky recipient of a basket of classroom supplies to help start the new year off right. Mrs. Godwin was one of several teachers selected from across the community by the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to the Chamber and Herald Office Supply for partnering to help make classrooms a little brighter.
State SCISA Secretary of the Year

Mrs. LINDA BROADWAY -- longtime member of the Laurence Manning Family was named the SCISA (South Carolina Independent School Association) Secretary of the Year.
Mrs. Broadway has served in many capacities. Most recently - a teacher, Principal and now, Elementary School Secretary. Congratulations on this honor of distinction from SCISA.

2019 CSU Homecoming Queen

LMA alumna Macey Wilson (Class of 2018) was crowned Charleston Southern University's 2019 Homecoming Queen. Macey is a sophomore at CSU and a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She is the daughter of Joe and Gina Wilson of Manning. Congratulations Macey!
LMA's Kathryne Jans Honored as 2019 SCISA Master Teacher

Mrs. Kathryne Jans was honored as a 2019 SCISA Master Teacher on Thursday, September 26, 2019. SCISA honors teachers who complete this program each year.
