Mrs. Godwin Receives Surprise from Chamber

Our very own Mrs. Sheree Godwin, K5, was the lucky recipient of a basket of classroom supplies to help start the new year off right.  Mrs. Godwin was one of several teachers selected from across the community by the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce.  Thank you to the Chamber and Herald Office Supply for partnering to help make classrooms a little brighter. 

State SCISA Secretary of the Year

Mrs. LINDA BROADWAY -- longtime member of the Laurence Manning Family was named the SCISA (South Carolina Independent School Association) Secretary of the Year.

Mrs. Broadway has served in many capacities. Most recently - a teacher, Principal and now, Elementary School Secretary.  Congratulations on this honor of distinction from SCISA.

2019 CSU Homecoming Queen

LMA alumna Macey Wilson (Class of 2018) was crowned Charleston Southern University's 2019 Homecoming Queen. Macey is a sophomore at CSU and a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She is the daughter of Joe and Gina Wilson of Manning. Congratulations Macey!

LMA's Kathryne Jans Honored as 2019 SCISA Master Teacher

Mrs. Kathryne Jans was honored as a 2019 SCISA Master Teacher on Thursday, September 26, 2019. SCISA honors teachers who complete this program each year. LMA Students Attend SCISSA Fall Convention

The SCISSA Fall convention was held at the State House on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. W. Barrineau attended as a state officer for the SCISSA Board. Eaddy Osteen, Reilly Ray, Breanna Boykin, John Lewis Scurry, Isabella Harris, and Walton Jolly attended as well, representing the LMA Executive Council.

LMA 2019 Homecoming Court Winners

Despite the rain, the 2019 LMA Homecoming festivities proceeded with minor adjustments. Thank you to the LMA Student Council and advisors, Mrs. Paula Johnson and Mrs. Ashton Reeser, for sponsoring Homecoming 2019. They are to be commended for their willingness and success at adapting to the weather.

Miss Reilly Ray was crowned as LMA's 2019 Homecoming Queen. Miss Isabella Harris was awarded 1st Runner Up, and Miss Breanna Boykin was awarded 2nd Runner Up. 

Congratulations to these young ladies and to all the 2019 Homecoming Court representatives.

LMA's First Ever Girls Golf Team

The LMA Inaugural Girls Golf Team beat Wilson Hall 188 to 250 on Monday, September 3rd. The LMA Lady Cats had two girls who shot a fantastic 2 under par 34: number one seed Lexi Bennett and number two seed Autumn Carey. Coach Gary Bennett is very excited about the young Lady Cats golfers. Congratulations Lady Cats!

Senior Yearbook Order, Senior Portraits, & Senior Ad Information

Senior Portrait dates are scheduled for September 25th and September 26th. Spencer's Photography will be set up in the Johnson Center from 2pm until 6pm on these days. There will be no makeup days for senior portraits, and there is a $20 sitting fee for each senior. Seniors will be able to schedule their appointments beginning on September 4th. 

Payment for Senior Ad orders with Palmetto Yearbooks is due on September 30th (after 9/30, a late fee will incur). Photos and materials are due by November 30th. Download the 2019-2020 Senior Ad packet here for more information:

LMA's STEM Program

The new STEM Lab for K5-6th grades is underway at LMA! The students have been learning about engineering, team work, following directions, and developing skills in active listening as well as creativity. We would like to thank everyone who collected and donated items to our lab this summer. If you are interested in helping with our soon-approaching Homecoming Project or any other future projects, please contact Rebekka Taylor at rtaylor@lmaedu.org.
