SCISA Spelling Bee

Earlier this year, students competed in a grade level Speling Bee in their classes.  Winners in grades 3-8 advanced to represent LMA at the SCISA Spelling Bee on January 26, 2021.  Willson Epps placed 2nd in the 5th grade division and the state competition.


2019-2020 Yearly Academic Awards

Yearly academic awards for grades 1st through 11th for the 2019-2020 school year, were given out in home rooms this year.  We are so proud of these students and all their hard work, especially given the unusual circumstances with which last year ended.  Congratulations and keep up the hard work!

Full Time School Nurse

As we work to develop the best and safest experience possible for our students, faculty, and staff, we are excited to announce that Mrs. Brooke Brewer has joined our faculty as our on campus nurse.  

Mrs. Brewer will be working to educate everyone on best practices during this unprecedented time.  She is working to update our health room facilities to help us better care for our on campus family.  

Mrs. Brewer has worked in EMS, as an ER nurse, and nursing supervisor.  She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Top 20 Under 40 Professionals

Laurence Manning is proud to announce that our very own Coach Austin Floyd was selected by readers of The Item as one of the Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40 in Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee counties. Coach Floyd's influence goes beyond the field on Friday nights.  He is dedicated to helping his players grow socially and spiritually as well.  We are blessed tp have Coach Floyd as a part of the Swampcat family!  Congratulations Coach and GO CATS!

Also honored as a Top 20 Under 40 Professional was John "JT" Duke. Duke is a 2012 graduate of Laurence Manning and currently works as a loan and banking officer with the Bank of Clarendon.  Congratulations JT on the difference you are making in your community!  


Campus Teachers of the Year Selected

LMA is pleased to announce our campus Teachers of the Year for 2021.

Mrs. Jean Robinson has been selected as our campus high school teacher of the year. Señora, as she is affectionatley known by most, teaches Spanish and is currently serving as a yearbook advisor.

Mrs. Margaret Barron has been selected as our campus elementary/middle school teacher of the year. Mrs. Barron works with students in K3-12th guiding instruction to meet their individual needs.

Both ladies were nominated by their peers and are outstanding representatives of the LMA faculty. They will move on to the SCISA Teacher of the Year selection process and be honored at a banquet later in the spring.
