Laurence Manning Academy was founded in 1972 on the commitment to provide students in grades K3 through 12 with a high quality education within a safe, friendly, and morally rich, Christian environment. After nearly a half of a century, Laurence Manning Academy continues to prepare our students to successfully work, lead, live, worship, and play in the ever-changing landscape of the 21st century.

Re-enrollment for 2021-2022

Registration for current students for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year is open now.  This year, registration will be primarily an online process.  Families have been sent an email with instructions and information, so please check your email regularly.  Please check your email for details.  Enrollment will be open for new students starting on March 18, 2021.

Laurence Manning is honored to have been voted as the BEST private school for the second year in a row.

Headmaster, Mr. Tripp Boykin, was also voted as the BEST school administrator.

Top 20 Under 40 Professionals

Laurence Manning is proud to announce that our very own Coach Austin Floyd was selected by readers of The Item as one of the Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40 in Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee counties. Coach Floyd's influence goes beyond the field on Friday nights.  He is dedicated to helping his players grow socially and spiritually as well.  We are blessed tp have Coach Floyd as a part of the Swampcat family!  Congratulations Coach and GO CATS!

Also honored as a Top 20 Under 40 Professional was John "JT" Duke. Duke is a 2012 graduate of Laurence Manning and currently works as a loan and banking officer with the Bank of Clarendon.  Congratulations JT on the difference you are making in your community!  

Campus Teachers of the Year Selected

LMA is pleased to announce our campus Teachers of the Year for 2021.

Mrs. Jean Robinson has been selected as our campus high school teacher of the year. Señora, as she is affectionatley known by most, teaches Spanish and is currently serving as a yearbook advisor.

Mrs. Margaret Barron has been selected as our campus elementary/middle school teacher of the year. Mrs. Barron works with students in K3-12th guiding instruction to meet their individual needs.

Both ladies were nominated by their peers and are outstanding representatives of the LMA faculty. They will move on to the SCISA Teacher of the Year selection process and be honored at a banquet later in the spring.

SCISA Spelling Bee

Earlier this year, students competed in a grade level Spelling Bee at Laurence Manning Academy. Winners in grades 3-8 advanced to represent LMA at the SCISA Spelling Bee on January 26, 2021. Willson Epps placed 2nd in the 5th grade division at the SCISA Spelling Bee.
